Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

As the co-founder and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Datacrate.io, I led the startup’s vision to enhance the effectiveness of retrieval-augmented generation for personal data. Our primary objective was to increase the portability of large language contexts and distributed personal data. My responsibilities surrounded guiding the company’s technical strategy, leading prototype development, and applying for funding.

DevOps Engineer

I managed a crucial Gitlab instance on Kubernetes for an external customer, part of a $95 million contract. My responsibilities included deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting production applications, using Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS.

Additionally, I contributed to the organization’s success by enhancing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines for internal and external use, streamlining testing and deployment automation. I also designed new functionality for the product’s Helm chart.

These experiences honed my technical skills and problem-solving abilities, enabling me to deliver impactful solutions for our clients.

Head of Lab

I played a key role in architecting the internal and cloud infrastructure for the club, aligning it with the unique needs of our members. Leveraging both on-premises Kubernetes clusters and Google Cloud, I worked to ensure a robust and scalable environment.

My efforts focused on standardizing software deployments and club resources, employing tools like Terraform, Helm, and Flux. I also took on the responsibility of maintaining our on-premises laboratory hardware, ensuring it remained in good condition.

In addition, I facilitated the integration of Teleport Single Sign-On (SSO) to efficiently manage access to our valuable lab resources. These experiences allowed me to provide members with a seamless and secure technology environment.

Information Technology Intern

I assisted with the deployment and upkeep of mission-critical production software at the Centerville Police Department and dispatch center, ensuring the seamless operation of essential services.

My responsibilities also involved conducting thorough technical product research to identify optimal solutions for the cities needs. Additionally, I took charge of crafting and deploying group policies, streamlining configurations and software deployments.

Raspberry Pi Kubernetes Cluster ☸ Personal Project Link to heading

As part of my early learning with Kubernetes, I built and ran a 6-node Kubernetes cluster on Raspberry Pis and deployed Gitea, Drone CI, and a monitoring stack with Prometheus and Grafana using GitOps with ArgoCD and Flux CD.

Worked on a small team to create a cloud native web app using React and Golang that will allow for remote end user device management and customization of Linux based developer workstations using either a simple UI or GitOps methods with Github.
